MR.DIY CSR: Mobile Haircut to Students 2022
Getting a haircut remains a luxury for some, and MR.DIY was happy to give out free haircuts service to more than 300 students from the B40 communities in Selangor. This was the first-CSR initiative of its kind named Program Gunting Rambut MR.DIY and it is a joint effort between MR.DIY with JMB Pangsapuri Sri Bakawali, Pusat Tuisyen Sinaran Impian and Pertubuhan Penggerak Komuniti Impian.
On 18 June 2022, a total of 20 volunteers from MR.DIY and 10 hairdressers from GIATMARA Ampang Jaya, DMZ Salon & Barber Academy, Eunoia Professional Hair Studio & Academy took part in the program's first session. The program was held at Pusat Informasi, Pangsapuri Sri Bakawali, Bukit Sentosa, Rawang, Selangor which benefitted almost 100 children from Bukit Sentosa and its surrounding areas.
The second session of the program was successfully held on 17 July 2022, at Dewan Taman Impian Ehsan 3, Taman Impian Ehsan 3, Seri Kembangan, Selangor. A total of 23 volunteers from MR.DIY and 12 hairdressers from GIATMARA Ampang Jaya took part and has benefitted 200 children from Taman Impian Ehsan 3 and its surrounding areas.
Another highlight of the program was the “Activity Zone” where we bring in the activities that based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic) learning. All the kids including their parents had a really fun time doing the activities such as flying paper, illusion games amongst other.
Moving ahead,MR.DIY intends to further expand these initiatives through partnership and collaboration whilst supporting the Company’s Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG).
