KUALA LUMPUR, 31 March 2020 — Corporate Malaysia has answered the call for help from the healthcare frontliners in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak in the country with a shipment of much-needed protective equipment.
Moved by the hardships these frontliners are facing in battling the global pandemic, home improvement retailer MR.DIY had answered the call and assisted The Edge Covid-19 Fund to source for 35,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) suits and 1 million 3-ply face masks to bring back to Malaysia. MR.DIY had also purchased an additional 1,000 PPE suits to donate to healthcare professionals here.
In addition to providing assistance in sourcing the PPE suits and face masks, flown in by low-cost carrier AirAsia from China last Friday (27 March), MR.DIY is also providing the support of its logistics teams and delivery fleet to distribute these medical safety equipment to more than 30 hospitals around the country, together with 3 non-governmental organisations — Mercy Malaysia, IMARET-Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia and Malaysian Relief Agency.

Group (M) Berhad, said: “This special humanitarian mission is Corporate Malaysia’s way of giving back, in a very tangible way, to support the heroes at the frontline of this war against Covid-19. This outbreak is a sobering reminder of the personal sacrifices these brave men and women are making in their tireless efforts to protect us.”
