MR.DIY Provides Aid to University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) Front-liners Fighting Covid-19 Outbreak

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 March 2020 —
Home improvement retailer MR.DIY today made a donation of products to University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) front-liners fighting the Covid-19 outbreak. The donation of 90 boxes of mineral water bottles and 20 boxes of biscuits was made this morning by representatives of the home improvement retailer.

Dato’ Azlam Shah Alias, Chairman of MR. D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad Chairman, said: “This donation is our gesture of goodwill and gratitude to UMMC’s front-liners, for their tireless effort towards fighting the Covid-19 outbreak. This pandemic has claimed the lives of nearly 10,000 people worldwide, and affected hundreds of thousands more. As of now, Malaysia has the highest number of Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia. Hopefully with the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO), we are able to flatten the curve within the fourteen (14) days.

“Even as we make this donation — which we hope will help the front-liners at UMMC, we urge all Malaysians play their part and to stay home to ease the burden on our healthcare system,” he added.

A representative of UMMC thanked MR.DIY for the donation, which go a way towards boosting the morale of the front-liners as they work towards ensuring the safety and well- being of their patients, their families and loved ones.
