MR.DIY Philippines supports women empowerment at 2026 FCC Women’s Run
PASAY CITY, PHILIPPINES — Reinforcing its commitment to women empowerment, community engagement, and environmental responsibility,  MR.DIY Philippines proudly supported the 2026 FCC Women’s Run PH, one of the country’s largest celebrations of International Women’s Day held March 8 at SM Mall of Asia.

Strength in numbers, power in unity. Women’s Run PH 2026 kicks off with unstoppable energy at the starting line!

This year’s run gathered 16,500 women and allies, creating a powerful display of solidarity, strength, and shared commitment to advancing opportunities for women.

As an annual sponsor of the event organized by the Filipina CEO Circle, MR.DIY Philippines once again mobilized its employees to actively participate in the celebration.

A total of 92 runners from MR.DIY Philippines registered for the race across different categories, reflecting the company’s culture of wellness, teamwork, and support for initiatives that uplift women within the workplace and the wider community.

MR.DIY employees are running for fitness, and recycling for the planet. Together, we make every step count—for ourselves and for Mother Earth.

Alongside the race activities, MR.DIY Philippines also promoted responsible waste disposal by setting up a dedicated Plastic Drop-Off Point at the Race Village.  Runners were encouraged to drop their clean, empty water bottles into designated MR.DIY bins to ensure proper segregation and recycling.

Running for fitness, recycling for the planet. Together, we make every step count—for ourselves and for Mother Earth.

Through the collective participation of runners and supporters, the initiative successfully collected 13 kilograms of PET bottles, equivalent to an estimated 400 to 650 single-use plastic bottles based on typical bottle weights. The collected plastics were subsequently turned over to MR DIY Philippines’ adopted Aling Tindera collection site in Barangay 310, Santa Cruz, Manila to ensure that the materials enter the proper recycling stream.

Aling Tindera is the flagship program of HOPE Philippines, supporting women micro-entrepreneurs who operate community-based plastic buy-back centers. The program enables women to earn additional income recovering recyclable plastics—making it a fitting initiative alongside the FCC Women’s Run for International Women’s Day.

Diverting plastic waste, whether PET bottles or soft plastics, from landfill or waterway leakage contributes to the broader circular economy movement—where materials are recovered, processed, and reused rather than discarded.

Small actions, big impact. Every bottle recycled is a step toward a cleaner tomorrow.

Recycling PET plastics reduces the demand for virgin plastic production, which typically requires higher energy consumption and emits more greenhouse gases during production. Beyond environmental benefits, initiatives like this also support grassroots recycling networks, providing livelihood opportunities for community-based waste collectors and environmental partners.

As PCX’s Plastic Cleanup Partner, MR.DIY Philippines reinforces its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitment to women empowerment and plastic recovery. By integrating sustainability actions into community events, the company aims to encourage everyday environmental stewardship while engaging employees, customers, and partners in collective impact.

“The FCC Women’s Run continues to grow into an inspiring platform where women and allies come together to celebrate strength, resilience, and community,” said Roselle Andaya, Chief Executive Officer of MR.DIY Philippines. “We are proud to support this movement—not only by encouraging our employees to participate, but also by promoting initiatives that benefit both people and the planet.”

Fitness, fun, and a greener future—thumbs up to making a difference.

As the community of runners and supporters continues to grow each year, MR.DIY Philippines looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the FCC Women’s Run and continuing initiatives that champion women empowerment, community engagement, and sustainability.
