5. Theme
The theme of this year’s competition is “Strength & Resilience" in which young and emerging artists will be given the opportunity to produce art that best interprets and conveys the theme of the competition.
Our theme explained:
“Strength & Resilience”
The proposed theme, Strength & Resilience, reflects the spirit of the communities MR D.I.Y. serves across Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia - communities marked by cultural richness, diverse environments, and the ability to adapt and endure. It offers a broad, unifying canvas for artists of all ages to explore strength and resilience in all its forms - human, natural, structural, or material - and to interpret how people, objects, and environments withstand challenges and continue to evolve. Building on the success of the first edition, this expansive theme provides emotional depth and creative flexibility, forming a strong foundation for another impactful MR D.I.Y. Art Competition.
We look forward to welcoming your submissions. Upon submission, please provide a short artwork statement to explain/describe your artwork (not more than 200 words).
6. Conditions
Please send us digital pictures/entries of your artwork before 20th April 2026 through the artwork submission link. The competition judges will shortlist the artworks that they would like to evaluate for prize consideration. The organizer will then contact the respective artist for submission of the actual artwork for judging.
