Overview
Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit for MR DIY. The primary role of Internal Audit (IA) is to assist the
Board, Audit Committee and management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities. IA does this
by performing data analytics, review and assess areas of risk/ lapses, report and ensure control measures
are establish to mitigate the risk. 

Job Description (Key Responsibilities):
  • Assist the head of IA in the preparation of annual risk assessment, and internal audit plan.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, managing and delivery of each internal audit review.
  • Planning – perform information gathering and analysis to identify area of focus. Ensure logistics, opening and closing meeting, interview schedules are plan ahead of time for the team and with auditees.
  • Execution – perform audit the audit fieldwork on the auditees operations and provide fieldwork progress.
  • Delivery - Prepare draft audit reports for head of IA reviews - observations / recommendations to management. Prepare audit working files are properly indexed, contains all relevant documents to ensure observations highlighted are adequately supported with evidenced.
  • Support the opening and closing meeting with auditee.
  • Conduct follow-up with business owners on the of the agreed action plans and recommendation; and where possible review adequacy and effectiveness of control measures put in place by management.
  • Carry out ad-hoc assignments, which include but not limited to special reviews as and when required by head of IA.
  • Participate in projects deemed fit by the head of IA.

Job Requirements & Person Specification (Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Behaviours)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related discipline –relevant professional qualification (MIA/CPA/CIA/ ACCA).
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable to work and handle large volume of data
  • At least 3 years of working experience as a hands on external or internal auditor.
  • Understanding of the regulations and reporting requirements of a public listed company
  • Well verse in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Confident, resourceful, analytical and innovative.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal English. Proficiency in other languages is an added advantage.
  • Willing to travel within Malaysia to perform audit review. (approximately 30%)
